Andrew Pasternak, PhD, MBA
Director, Commercial Development
Dr. Pasternak has over 14 years of experience directing technology commercialization and research operations in several biotechnology/chemical fields, including medical devices, drug discovery, pharmaceutical services, instrumentation, and "green" chemistry. He has expertise in managing multi-disciplined technical teams, conducting technology assessment and due diligence activities, and developing business development and marketing strategies. Andrew also has extensive knowledge in the areas of intellectual property management, R&D quality systems, project management, and business plan development.
Dr. Pasternak has held several positions directing research and operations at a number of companies in the biotechnology sector. He was Director of Research at Covalon Technologies Ltd., Director of Drug Discovery & Lead Optimization at Transition Therapeutics Inc., Sr. Director at MDS Protana, General Manager of Optimol Inc., Director of Science & Technology at MDS Proteomics, and Manager of New Technologies at MDS Sciex. He is currently a commercialization consultant for GreenCentre Canada, evaluating "green" chemistries and managing external and internal development projects since the inception of the organization.
Dr. Pasternak has a Ph.D. and M.S. (Northwestern University) and B.S.E (University of Michigan) in bio-chemical engineering. He also has an MBA from the Rotman School of Business (University of Toronto), focusing on finance and strategy.
