Ernie Springolo
Head / Senior Country Representative, Bayer MaterialScience
Ernie Springolo is the Head of Bayer MaterialScience (BMS) for Bayer Inc. In his current role, Mr. Springolo is responsible for the sales and marketing activities for thermoplastic urethane, polyurethanes, coatings, adhesives and specialties, and polycarbonates and polycarbonate blends in Canada. In addition, Mr.Springolo has Global Key Account responsibility for one of BMS’s global automotive accounts, The Woodbridge Group.
Mr. Springolo has held several other positions at Bayer Inc. including Business Manager, Polyurethanes and Senior Account Manager, Polyurethanes. Prior to working at Bayer, Mr. Springolo held sales / marketing management positions at Lyondell Canada, Arco Chem Canada, Union Carbide Corp. and Union Carbide Canada. He has worked in the U.S. and Canada and has also been responsible for introducing the HYPERLITE and ULTRACEL technologies into the European markets.
Mr. Springolo’s educational background includes a B.A.Sc in Chemical Engineering and Polymer Science, University of Toronto. He has also attended the Executive Development Programme, McGill University. He is a member of the Ordre des Ingenieurs du Quebec and represents Bayer Inc. on ‘Partners in Project Green’.
