Matthew Zaluzec, PhD

Dr. Matthew J. Zaluzec is Manager of the Materials and Manufacturing Research at Ford Motor Company's Research and Innovation Center. He has 20 years of automotive materials and manufacturing experience. His research staff is focused on light weight materials development including metals, paint and plastics research, energy conversion materials development, and nano-materials development. He also manages Ford's world-class analytical materials characterization and surface science laboratories. His core research delivers advanced materials and manufacturing technology in the development of lightweight body architectures, power train systems and interiors. Dr. Zaluzec received his PhD in Materials Science Engineering from University of Illinois. He has received numerous technical achievement awards and has been granted 40 U.S. patents (110 worldwide) and has published/presented more than 75 technical papers. In addition to numerous professional memberships, he is currently chair of USAMP (United States Automotive Materials Partnership), a division of USCAR (United States Consortium of Automotive Research).
