Rick Tabor
Research Associate, Stepan Company

Rick is currently a Research Associate in Stepan Company’s Synthesis Group. His key responsibility for the past 6 years has been to fill Stepan’s innovation portfolio with early-stage product and business development opportunities. For the previous 24 years, Rick created value-added polyurethane and polyolefin product concepts and commercialized them both at Stepan Company and the Dow Chemical Company. He has received the Robert E. Cramer Award for Excellence in Technical Development, the Breaking the Barrier Award for Large Appliance Polyurethane Success, the Thunderbolt Award for Concept Excellence, and the Best Paper Award at Polyurethanes-1994, and the “Better, Faster, First” Award for product development. His career has produced 17 external publications, 40 patents and 8 major product launches. Mr. Tabor graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Chemistry from Texas A&M in 1980.
