GreenCentre launches new website

Oct. 26, 2009

GreenCentre Canada is now available to the world with a new interactive website designed to raise awareness of its mission and how it works with universities and industry to commercialize Green Chemistry discoveries.

GreenCentre’s key audiences include chemistry researchers and technology transfer offices at universities across Canada, members of the country’s chemical and manufacturing industry, and all Canadians concerned about the environment.

“We are a young, high energy organization with new teams of scientists and commercial development managers who are very excited about the mission of GreenCentre and the possibilities its represents for making a real difference to the environment,” says Executive Director Rui Resendes. “We invite everyone to visit our site and become familiar with how they can get involved or advance the cause of transforming Green Chemistry discoveries into business opportunities.”

An innovation pipeline fed by research groups across Canada, GreenCentre transforms Green Chemistry discoveries into real world green products and industrial technologies. The Centre brings together Canada’s foremost Green Chemistry researchers, industry partners, and commercialization professionals in a common goal of developing cleaner, less energy-intensive alternatives to traditional chemical products and manufacturing processes. Early-stage innovations are developed to meet specific needs and achieve the magnitude of scale required by industry.

The website, developed by the Kingston-based Smallworld Media Group, will be of special interest to:

  • Green Chemistry researchers who want to know if their discoveries have commercialization potential
  • Canadian universities and their technology transfer offices interested in seeing the work of their researchers transformed into innovative products and processes that contribute to society
  • Canadians who are interested in concrete solutions for cleaning our environment and protecting our natural resources.
