Larry Rosen has more than 35 years experience in the chemical industry and is currently Chairman of Pressure Chemical Co. in Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Rosen earned his BS in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and his JD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. He began his business career in the securities industry, becoming a General Partner in a Member of the NYSE. In 1972, he negotiated the buyout of a small division of Eagle Picher Industries, creating Pyrolytic Co., a developer of commercial processes and products employing CVD technology. He left the securities industry to operate that company, ultimately merging it into its raw material supplier, Pressure Chemical Co. Mr. Rosen also founded CT Specialties Corp. in 1994 to acquire and operate a chemical facility performing toll manufacturing services in Leland, NC. Pressure Chemical was acquired from Mr. Rosen in November 2013.
Mr. Rosen has served as an active Board Member for a number of chemical industry organizations, including SOCMA, where he chaired its Small Chemical Business Committee, and the Pennsylvania Chemical Industry Council, where he served several terms as Cochairman. He spent many years as a Director and Officer of the Lawrenceville Corporation, a prominent Pittsburgh Community Development Organization. His community interests include education. He has served as a Charter School Board Member and CEO of Career Connections Charter High School in the Lawrenceville District of Pittsburgh and has recently joined the Board of A+ Schools, an independent, non-profit advocate for improved student achievement in the Pittsburgh Public Schools. His hobbies include metalworking and he is a Board member of the Society for Contemporary Craft, an internationally recognized non-profit committed to excellence and innovation in craft media.
